How to buy a memecoin

Buying a memecoin has the same few steps on every chain: have a wallet, fund it, find the token, check it and confirm the trade. Here is the path and the mistakes that cost people money.

The steps

The numbered steps in the structured data match the flow below, and each chain page explains the native asset and stablecoins to fund with.

  • Log in or sign up, then pick the chains you want.
  • Fund the wallet on that chain with its native asset for network fees plus what you want to spend.
  • Find the token in Pulse or Discover and read its holder and safety signals.
  • Choose an amount you can afford to lose and a slippage limit that fits the token's liquidity.
  • Press Buy: the quote and the trade happen in one click.
  1. Log in or sign up. Use Google, X or email. One account covers every chain.
  2. Pick your chains. Switch on the markets you care about and mix them in Pulse and Discover.
  3. Fund your wallet. Deposit the chain's native asset for network fees, and the asset you want to spend, to your Verve wallet address on that chain.
  4. Find and vet a token. Browse Pulse or Discover, open the token page and read the holder and safety signals.
  5. Buy. Use one-click quick buy with your preset amount, or press Buy on the token page, which quotes and trades in one click.
  6. Fees. Fees are listed in the Terms. A spot swap costs 0.9% (0.81% with a sign-up referral).

Common mistakes

  • Buying the wrong token with a copied name. Check the token page, not just the ticker.
  • Skipping gas. Without the chain's native asset a transaction cannot be sent (on Arc, USDC is the gas asset).
  • Setting slippage very high to force a fill, which invites sandwich attacks.
  • Sizing up on a token with thin liquidity that you may not be able to sell.

What you will pay

A spot swap is 0.9% (0.81% for sign-up referrals), charged per wallet and shown before you confirm. Network gas is separate. See how fees work.

Availability

Verve is in private beta. Order execution unlocks chain by chain as each release gate passes, so buying may not be live for your account yet.

How much do I need to start?

There is no minimum set by this guide. You need enough of the chain's native asset to pay network fees, plus the amount you want to spend. Only trade what you can afford to lose.

Can I buy on any chain from one account?

Yes. One account covers all nine chains, with a wallet per chain.
