How a swap works
- Every swap is made from your own wallet on the token's own chain. Verve prepares it, and a signing permission you can revoke executes it. Your keys stay yours.
- A swap sets an exact amount in and a minimum out. The minimum is your quote reduced by your slippage.
- The fee is one spot fee: 0.9%, or 0.81% with a sign-up referral. See Fees.
- Several wallets can trade at once; each pays its own fee.
Slippage
Slippage is how far the price may move against you before the swap refuses to go through. Defaults are 1% (5% on the quick bar's custom preset). Verve sets no upper limit: you may choose any value above zero, and 250% stays 250%. From 100% on, a sell's minimum output is zero, so such a swap accepts any price.
New tokens on a bonding curve
Where it is supported, buying or selling a token that is still on its launchpad curve can go directly against the curve instead of through an aggregator, with the fee taken in the same transaction. Verve falls back to the normal route whenever the curve cannot be read with certainty.
Availability
Before any trade the server also checks that you accepted the current Terms and that your account is approved for funds. An invitation by code or invite link approves you automatically; other admissions are approved by Verve.
