Memecoin trading risks
Memecoins can lose most of their value in minutes. This page lists the main ways that happens and the habits that limit how much you can lose. It is general information, not financial advice.

Market risks
- Total loss. A token can go to near zero, or become impossible to sell.
- Thin liquidity. You may not be able to exit at anything near the quoted price.
- Concentrated holders. A few wallets can move the price by selling.
- Slippage and MEV. Fast markets and public transactions let others profit from your order.
Scam patterns
- Honeypots that let you buy but not sell.
- Coordinated launches where linked wallets hold much of the supply.
- Impersonation: fake accounts, fake support and fake links that ask for your key.
Habits that limit downside
- Size every trade as money you can lose entirely.
- Check holders, developer holdings and liquidity before you buy.
- Keep slippage tight and avoid oversized trades in thin pools.
- Never share a private key or recovery information. Verve will never ask for it.
- On Copilot, keep the default approval level until you are comfortable and set per-chain limits if you grant full access.
Not advice
Trading digital assets, and new tokens in particular, involves substantial risk, including total loss. Nothing here is financial advice.
Can I lose more than I put in?
On a spot buy you can lose the amount you spent. Network fees may also be spent on failed transactions.
Does Copilot remove risk?
No. Copilot prepares or places trades under permissions you set. It does not make a trade safer.
